Questions we get asked.
How the gates work, where the emails go, what happens to your data, and what free means at the moment.
How do gated links work?
You pick a link, turn its gate on, and write the message visitors will see. When someone clicks it, Lazito asks for an email address or a verified Google sign-in, then reveals the destination. The protected URL is sent after the exchange, so it is never sitting in the public page source.
Which links are worth gating?
Gate the things people actively want: ebooks, templates, presets, guides, private downloads, workshop material, early access, waitlists. Social profiles and general navigation are better left as ordinary links — a gate on those mostly just loses you the click.
Where do the email addresses go?
Into your Lazito subscriber list, with the source link and capture method attached to each record. You can read the list in the dashboard and export it to CSV for any mailing tool. Lazito does not sell the addresses, and export is not a paid privilege.
Can visitors use Google instead of typing an email?
Yes. A gate can offer verified Google sign-in next to ordinary email entry. The record shows which one was used, so you can tell a verified Google address apart from one somebody typed by hand.
Can someone scrape the gated destination from my page?
The gated URL is not included in the public link-page source, and is only returned once the visitor has completed the gate. That rules out the obvious bypass of viewing the page source. It is a gate rather than DRM: anyone who does get through can still share what they downloaded.
What does it cost?
Nothing at the moment. Unlimited links, gated links, scheduling, pinning, spotlight links, analytics, QR tools, theming and export are all available with no paid tier sitting behind them, because there is no paid tier yet.
What happens when you do start charging?
We will say so clearly and in advance rather than quietly moving existing features behind a paywall. Getting your own subscribers out of Lazito is not something we intend to charge for.
Can I use my own domain?
Not yet. Custom domains are the next significant thing on the roadmap. For now your page lives on a Lazito address.
How does magic-link login work?
Type your email on the login screen and Lazito emails you a sign-in link. Click it and you are in, with no password to store or forget. The link expires after 15 minutes.
What can I export?
Your subscriber list as CSV, plus your other Lazito data. The product is built around portability, so nothing useful is locked to the platform.
Does Lazito use cookies or fingerprint visitors?
No. The analytics do not rely on cookies, browser fingerprinting or third-party advertising scripts, which is also why your page does not need a consent banner. You still get views, clicks, click-through rate, referrers, countries and QR scans.
What happens when I remove a link?
Lazito archives rather than deletes. The link comes off the public page while its record, its stats and the subscribers it captured stay in your dashboard.
Still deciding? Try it on one link.
